Newsletter 20 July 2018

Hi everyone,
It is nearly the beginning of term 3! The weather has been wonderful for the school holidays.

Loopy Tunes: Sumner Bays Union Trust is proud to bring the preschool music and movement programme Loopy Tunes to Sumner and Redcliffs as this is the programme Siu Williams-Lemi provides. Session times and days will remain the same:
·  Tuesdays, 9.30 am: Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre, Puoro-raki
·  Thursdays, 9.30 am: Uniting Church hall, Augusta Street, Redcliffs.
The price is changing: It will be $2 per child. Follow the Loopy Tunes page on Facebook for more updates: https://www.facebook.com/LoopyTunesPreschoolMusic/
The Sumner sessions that Siu has taken (then named Mini Music) have been very well received, with 21 children attending on the second to last week of term and 18 children the last week of term 2.

Lyttelton Bays and the Craft Cottage and Gallery Visit: Maree has organised this outing for seniors for 20 August 2018, departing at 12.45 pm from the Sumner Hub at 57 Nayland Street. Cost is $7.50 per person, which includes afternoon tea. Bookings are essential. Please contact Maree on 376-4020.

Movie afternoon: The Leisure Seeker: Monday 23 July 2018 at 1.30 pm. Oscar winner Helen Mirren and two-time Golden Globe winner Donald Sutherland star in this road trip drama. An elderly couple, the husband who has dementia, decide to take a road trip along Route 66 to Disneyland in their faithful RV they call the leisure seeker. On this adventure they become inspired by the countryside and the people they meet, and have a lot of fun.
Phone Maree for bookings on 376-4020
$10.00 per ticket at Hollywood Cinemas: if you could purchase your tickets between 11 am and 1 pm on the day that would be much appreciated as there can be quite a queue.

Our Older Persons’ Worker Maree (who is a registered social worker) has a caseload of 45 seniors across the Bays area, This shows just how important her services are to our community.
