Term: 12 months 30 hours per week
Sumner Bays Union Trust is a charitable trust undertaking community development initiatives mainly in Sumner and Redcliffs. One central aspect of our work is reducing social isolation among seniors in our community.
The project will require someone who will:
- Engage with health professionals and other services to gauge the extent of the problem across the population of Redcliffs and Sumner and perhaps the wider bays area.
- Develop long-term strategies to increase participation in the community by seniors, some of whom may have mobility or mental health issues which prevent them easily engaging in their community.
- Develop capacity within existing community volunteer and TimeBanking networks, to run a programme on an ongoing basis to reduce social isolation.
The successful applicant will have experience in community development and will possess exceptional relationship building skills and verbal and written communication skills. A full job description and project description can be found here:

Ideally the successful applicant will live in the wider bays (Sumner, Redcliffs, Mt Pleasant, or Heathcote Valley) area and have links to existing community networks, although applications from further afield will be considered.
