SBUT Newsletter 30 August 2013

Sumner Bays Union Trust Newsletter 30 August 2013

Hello everyone,

It’s nearly spring and we’ve got quite a few things coming up.

Craft Workshops start in Redcliffs Community Shed next Wednesday 4 September, 10 am – 12 pm. Everyone is welcome to come along. They will run each week until the end of November.
September: Collage Crafts
October: Other crafts
November: Christmas Crafts
Thanks to Wendy Rendle for organising these.

The Men’s Group is running every second Wednesday evening in the Shed. The dinghy is really beginning to come along! Come and work on the dinghy, or play darts or table tennis, or have a beer. Next session is Wednesday 11 September.

We said farewell to Beth Cohen yesterday who has taken Mini Music during 2013. Thanks Beth! We’ll be welcoming Cathy White back from maternity leave. Sessions remain in Sumner at the old school hall (temporary community centre) kitchen on Tuesdays at 9.30 am and in Redcliffs at the Redcliffs Public Library (the tennis club building) at 75 Main Road on Thursday mornings at 9.30 am. Many thanks to the library and tennis club for hosting us.

The Senior Expo is coming up on Friday 8 November from 12.30pm – 2.30 pm in the Sumner Union Church facilities. Any community group or agency or service which would like to hold a display at this event please get in touch with me to book your table.

The Sumner-Redcliffs Community Carols will be held on Thursday 12 December in the Sumner School grounds.

Redcliffs Community Shed has workshop open hours from 10 am – 3 pm Tuesdays and Thursday. Please feel free to come along and catch up – maybe even do something practical in the workshops.

The Mother Hubbard’s Creative Co-op is meeting most Friday mornings from about 10 am in the arts & crafts room at Redcliffs Community Shed. Everyone welcome.

Warm regards,
Eddie Hayes
