Newsletter 2 December 2020

Kia ora everyone,

It’s summer! In fairness, not exactly the most summery of weather, but there’s still time for this to develop.

Happy Hour
Our final Happy Hour for 2020 is being held this Friday 4 December at the Port Hills Uniting Parish Church hall/grounds at 4 Augusta Street, Redcliffs. It starts at 4pm and runs until 6pm. This month we’re having a barbecue. A big thank you to Liz, Susan, Deirdre, Jim, Margaret, Mark and everyone else who has helped make this activity a success in this most peculiar of years. I won’t be sorry to see the back of 2020!

Loopy Tunes Preschool Music’s final sessions in our area are this coming Tuesday 8 December.
Sumner: 9.30am in Puoro-raki, upstairs in the Matuku Takotako Sumner Centre.
Redcliffs: 10.30am in the Port Hills Uniting Parish’s church hall at 4 Augusta Street.

Sumner Redcliffs Community Carols
This annual carol singing event is being held on Thursday 10 December from 6.30 to approximately 7.30pm.
Exactly the same as last year – in the Sumner Village Mall Carpark near the Wakefield Avenue end. A big thank you to the Sumner Village Mall Body Corporate for giving us permission to hold this here again. It will feature:

  • The Sumner Silver Band (conducted by Ray Blampied)
  • Loopy Tunes Preschool Music (Siu Williams-Lemi and Leah Williams-Partington)
  • Someone very jolly…

Thanks in advance to everyone who is helping make this happen. If you are attending, please bring something to sit on as we don’t have enough seats for everyone.

Sufficed to say, it will go ahead only if weather and COVID-19 permit.

Ngā mihi,
Eddie Hayes
