COMING UP SOON
Mid week Food Forest working bee
We would really love some help sprucing up the Food Forest ready for the Sumner Garden tour and will be having a working bee there on Wednesday 22nd November from 9am until 12.30pm. Please come along if you can and help us with a bit of weeding, tidying and general beautifying! Bring gloves and a water bottle.
To find us, enter van Asch school via the main gates on Wakefield Ave and follow the driveway up to the top of the school site. Or enter from the top of the school site through the gate on Heberden Ave where the buses turn around. Please do not drive on to the site.
Are you able to do some baking?
On the day of the Garden Tour, we would like to have some baked goodies available for our visitors to purchase. All donations of baking gratefully accepted… Baking can be dropped off at 133 Nayland St on Saturday 25th November.
Save the Date – Trees and Bees talk
Watch this space for more details – on 26th November at 4pm, Dr Linda Newstrom-Lloyd (botanist and pollination biologist) of The Trees for Bees NZ programme, will be doing a public talk at the Sumner Community Centre. Come along to learn how to plant our open spaces in a way that supports the bees. More details soon
